On a recent trip to Rancho Palos Verdes, we decided to venture outside of our hotel to dine at Bettolino Kitchen. I'm so glad we did! We ordered the focaccia and crab arancini to start - both were amazing. I had the cioppino which was hearty and flavorful. My husband had the tagliatelle bolognese which he really enjoyed. Their pastas are all homemade. The interior of the restaurant is warm and modern. They have a Photo Booth off the lobby where you can snap a photo before or after dinner - a nice touch! Service was fantastic. You can tell it's family owned. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area again!
Went here for dinner and the vibes were pretty nice. Waiters were super kind and helpful with ordering, and would always ask to refill the complimentary bread....which was freshly baked btw! Pasta was delicious too. Will be back one day
Awesome food and service:) it was pretty crowded when we came, but I can see why. The parking was just about full when we came here on a Monday night. The staff was attentive and the food tasted as good as it looked. Ill definitely be back to try other dishes. Probably going to add this place to one of my favorite local Italian restaurants.
We went for lunch & I was a bit disappointed that they have a separate lunch & dinner menu. I wanted the crab arancini but it wasn't on the lunch menu so I asked the server & she offered to check with the kitchen & they obliged. I'm so glad I asked because it was delicious. My daughter had the prosciutto & burrata panini & it was a nice balance of all the ingredients. The carbonara di gamberi was good...pasta was al dente with a good bite. Service was great. If I lived closer I would visit often.
Had a really nice lunch with family today. We are a party of 11 and when I made reservations we were initially asked to do a fixed menu. I kindly requested an open menu and we were so glad we had that option. All the different options were delicious and fresh. Tried 3 of the 4 appetizers - donuts, hearts of palm fries, and calamari. We tried a bunch of menu options and the pastas were SO fresh and amazing. Will definitely be back and definitely recommend this restaurant. Very easy handicapped/wheelchair access for parking, dining, and WC.
Went for dinner on a weekday. Got last minute reservation for four. I got the branzino. Pretty good. Cooked well. Flavorful. The accompanying sides were very good too. Nice good size parking lot so that made things easy. Service was good. We were slow to order and eat but the waitress was understanding. She was very patient and helpful.
Bettolino Kitchen offers delicious food and friendly service. We came in on a Saturday night during prime dinner time, party of 5, without a reservation. They got us seated at the bar where the friendly bartender got us started with a bottle of wine, fresh bread and appetizers. We felt so well taken care of and about an hour later were seated at a lovely corner booth. Even though we were pretty full from the starters we ordered more! The salads were light and fresh, and we split 2 amongst the 5 of us. I enjoyed the parmesan crisps in the Caesar Frito but my favorite was the Hearts of Palm salad which was unique, light and fresh. My main was the Lobster Bucatini Pasta. The pasta is handmade and served with seared lobster, asparagus and cherry tomatoes in a lemon cream sauce. The pasta was perfectly cooked and they put so much lobster that at the end I was left with lobster, not noodles. The Yelp check-in offer gets you a slice of Cannoli Cheesecake and they were kind enough to bring us out two for our group. I can't say enough good things about this, I was really blown away by how delicious it was. I will definitely be back!
Wanted to give Bettolino Kitchen another try. Decided to place an order online. It was easy and clear. I chose curbside pick up. There are 2 dedicated parking spots in front of the restaurant for curbside pick up. The sign instructs you to call the restaurant, give them your name and just parking spot you are in. While I was dialing, the host came out to the car and asked for my name. He returned in a flash with my order. The parking lot was full so I appreciated the dedicated spots. So impressed with the take out order as BK provides you with a card with instructions to heat up the food and also provide them feedback on their service. Special instructions are even on the bread that comes with entrees on reheating. Oh snap! The food was hot and delicious. Very satisfying. Ok, bye.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience! 4.5 stars (We thought happy hour ended at 6, but it actually ends at 5:30pm.) We were seated outside since we brought our dog (yay for dog-friendly!), and service was great. Richard was our server and he truly made it an enjoyable experience. We ordered: - Calamari - Cesar Salad - Strawberry Basil Mocktail - Campanelle di Guiliana - Gnocchi con Tartufo - (Free dessert) Cannoli Cheesecake Everything was excellent! The only thing we didn't quite enjoy was the gnocchi con tartufo which we felt was under-seasoned and overall underwhelming in terms of flavor. However, everything else was really enjoyable, especially the calamari which tasted fresh, crispy, and tender! And the campanelle di guiliana was amazing -- definitely our favorite dish of the night. The pasta was perfectly al dente and the shape of the pasta soaked up the delicious Parmesan cream sauce. The chicken was tender and the crispy pancetta made for a nice contrast in texture. We will definitely be back!
Italian restaurants can kinda all become the same after a while, thank goodness Bettolino isn't that generic. Located in Redondo Beach area, it's a great stop for some nicer Italian pasta/food. You already know I'm a sucker for seafood so the lobster bucatini and del mare were a no brainer. Nice and creamy with a fair portion of seafood, it's gonna be a good time in your mouth. The branzino (fish) was good but I would probably stick with pasta here. Now I dunno why but we decided to get lots of dessert and yeah, no regrets at all. As always, a cappuccino and sweets is the best way to end my Italian dinner (I've become numb to caffeine so this is acceptable). Keep an eye out for their unique specials each day of the week, if you're into that.
